Hornby R3728 BR Pug 0-4-0 51207
Brand new model from Hornby of the very quirky and frankly microscopic 'Pug'.
Three were originally built in 1886 by the Vulcan Foundry for the London and Yorkshire railway but with their success came seventeen more between 1893 and 1895, with design improvements such as a larger saddle tank and cab. Then, forty more were built at Horwich.
They became Class 21 in 1919 after George Hughes simplifed the classifcations of the L&YR, but they always known as Pugs to everybody. Withdrawals began as early as the 20's, with the last BR owned example withdrawn in 1964. Altough, many were privately owned by this point and operated for years after.
This model is brand new and the condition is as such, with no prior usage and only taken from the box for the photo. The box shares this, with no noticable scuffs or marks, although some may present themsleves from time in our shop. All instructions are present, and a very generous detail pack too.
Ideal for the modeller of the North West, with these locomotives used in the docks of Fleetwood, Salford, Liverpool, etc.
00 gauge, not DCC ready.
